The Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) has graduated 186 new warfare trainees and three commanders from the Mountain Division Warfare Training School in Karugutu, Ntoroko District. This marks a significant step in enhancing the country’s counterterrorism capabilities.
Colonel Paul Muwonge, the Mountain Division Deputy Commander, presided over the graduation ceremony and congratulated the soldiers for successfully completing their rigorous 16-week training program. He emphasized the importance of their roles in safeguarding national security and combating terrorism.
The trainees underwent intensive military training focused on counterterrorism tactics, strategic warfare, and operational readiness. Their expertise will be crucial in addressing current and future security challenges in Uganda and the broader region.
This initiative by the UPDF reflects a commitment to modernizing its forces and ensuring preparedness against evolving threats. The newly graduated soldiers are now equipped with advanced skills to contribute effectively to peacekeeping missions and domestic security operations.
