Trump's Record: 38 Orders in Less Than Two Weeks!

US President Donald Trump Sets Record Pace With Executive Orders

President Trump has issued an unprecedented number of executive orders in his first nine days in office, according to a report by Axios. The 47th US president has signed 38 directives since taking the oath on January 20, surpassing all his predecessors at this early stage.

Trump’s rapid issuance of executive orders mirrors only two other presidents’ actions within their first 100 days: Joe Biden and Harry Truman, who both issued 40 executive orders during that period. With over two months left in the critical 100-day span, Trump is on track to far outpace his predecessors.

Trump’s early orders cover a broad range of policies, including immigration, trade, energy production, and federal agency restructuring. Axios describes this as a “shock-and-awe campaign of unilateral actions that push the limits of presidential power.”

However, this radical expansion of executive authority may face legal challenges. During his campaign, Trump promised swift and sweeping changes to the US government if re-elected. In his first days back in office, he has delivered on that pledge by signing numerous executive orders targeting Biden administration policies.

One notable order aimed to deny US citizenship to children born in the country unless at least one parent is an American citizen or a lawful permanent resident. A federal judge later suspended this order, deeming it “blatantly unconstitutional.”

The new administration also announced plans to temporarily halt federal payments to ensure compliance with Trump’s directives. This move has sparked widespread backlash from Democrats and human rights advocates who argue it represents a significant overreach of executive power. Legal experts have questioned the president’s authority to unilaterally cut off funding for programs that have been authorized by Congress.
