Trump Slams Biden: 'US Embarrassment' in Ukraine Crisis

President Trump Blames Biden for Ukraine Conflict Escalation, Offers Peace Plan

US President Donald Trump has criticized his predecessor, Joe Biden, asserting that Biden’s handling of the Ukraine crisis led to its escalation and preventable casualties. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump argued that Biden’s approach was an “embarrassment” to the US.

Trump claimed to have discussed the conflict with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the phone, though the Kremlin has yet to confirm this. He hinted at a concrete plan for ending the war, expressing hope for a swift resolution as people continue to die daily.

Blame for the ongoing hostilities, Trump insists, lies with Biden. He believes that if he had been president in 2022, the conflict “never would have happened.” Trump points to his previously good relationship with Putin, contrasting it with what he sees as Biden’s shortcomings.

Trump has repeatedly vowed to swiftly end the Ukraine conflict, unlike Biden who adheres to supporting Kiev “for as long as it takes.” He has criticized Biden’s approach, including allowing Kiev to use American long-range weapons for strikes deep into Russia, deeming it “stupid.”

In January, Trump noted he could understand Russia’s opposition to Ukraine’s NATO membership. This remark drew praise from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who saw it as a sign of US readiness to discuss the issue seriously.

Trump’s reported peace plan involves freezing the conflict along the current front line, establishing a demilitarized zone patrolled by European soldiers, and suspending Ukraine’s NATO aspirations. However, Russia has rejected this proposal, arguing that it would allow Ukraine to rearm and prepare for future confrontation.
