Transgender References Vanish From U.S. Travel Advisories.

President Trump’s Executive Orders Impact Transgender Rights

President Donald Trump’s executive orders have led to significant changes in U.S. State Department travel advisories, notably the removal of “transgender” references and the abbreviation of LGBTQI+ to LGB in its International Travel section.

The alterations, captured in social media photos, occurred shortly after President Trump signed numerous executive orders, including those aimed at reversing transgender-related legislation from the previous administration. Despite these changes, the State Department has yet to issue an official statement.

This move is part of a broader trend by the Trump administration to curtail initiatives protecting transgender rights and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at government levels. On his first day back in the Oval Office, President Trump revoked 78 executive orders signed by predecessor Joe Biden, including those related to transgender people and DEI initiatives.

The president has also halted federal funding for gender transition-related medical procedures for individuals under 19, citing concerns about “child-abusive” practices that cause “blatant harm.”

Last week, media reports surfaced about internal memos ordering federal employees to remove pronouns from their email signatures by Friday afternoon. Simultaneously, several departments’ websites temporarily went down before reappearing later in the day.

President Trump signed an executive order titled “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,” aimed at eliminating “radical gender ideology” from the military. Additionally, last month, the State Department suspended processing passport applications where ‘X’ is selected as the gender, reflecting a broader push to halt accommodations for non-binary individuals.

These changes highlight President Trump’s administration efforts to roll back policies and protections related to transgender rights in various aspects of U.S. society and governance.
