MAGA Host Slams Trump’s Treatment of Leader

Conservative commentator David Brody sharply criticized former President Donald Trump’s recent meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, labeling the incident a display of poor diplomatic etiquette. Brody, speaking on Real America’s Voice, took issue with Trump’s decision to show Ramaphosa a video alleging “white genocide” during their Oval Office meeting, describing the move as an ambush.

“It was unbelievable,” Brody stated, questioning the unusual staging of the meeting, specifically the dimming of lights to present the video. He likened the act to a tactic one wouldn’t expect to see in such a setting, referencing the antiquated imagery of using a “VCR.”

Brody argued that Trump’s actions constituted “sandbagging” Ramaphosa, suggesting the former president would react negatively if subjected to the same treatment. He emphasized the hypocrisy of the situation, stating Trump would likely “be complaining big time” if a foreign leader presented him with an unexpected and potentially controversial video in a similar manner.

“I didn’t like it,” Brody plainly stated, adding that it wasn’t the appropriate way to handle the meeting. He repeatedly stressed the importance of considering how Trump would react if roles were reversed, advocating for honesty in assessing the situation.

The incident raises questions about diplomatic protocol and the potential for such actions to strain international relations. While the content of the video itself is a separate issue, Brody’s criticism centers on the manner in which it was presented – a perceived lack of respect and a departure from established diplomatic norms. It’s a noteworthy rebuke from within Trump’s own base of support, highlighting a potential disconnect between the former president’s tactics and expectations of proper conduct, even among his loyal followers.
