Kenya’s High Commissioner to Uganda, Joash Maangi, met with Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Thursday afternoon as part of a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. Accompanying Maangi were Kenya’s Defence Attaché to Uganda, Col. Patrick Kaduda, and other senior officials from the Kenyan High Commission. The meeting was part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and mutual respect between Uganda and Kenya.
During the visit, Maangi expressed deep regret over recent insulting comments published in Moi’s newspaper that were directed at Gen. Muhoozi. The apology was seen as a significant step toward addressing any misunderstandings and reinforcing the strong relationship between the two countries. Both sides emphasized their commitment to maintaining peaceful and productive diplomatic relations moving forward.
The encounter underscored the importance of open dialogue in resolving disputes and fostering trust between neighboring nations.
